Wild Gold harvests native grasses and grains from vacant lots around Detroit, mixing them with a soy-based bio-resin to form custom cast panels. The parabolic shade structure is suspended in a gridded structural basket-frame, levitating above the ground and casting speckled shadows beneath. The rich texture of the aggregate panels transforms depending on the light, alternately glowing and becoming silhouetted. Congregating beneath the structure, visitors are reminded of the act of gathering, which is embedded and inherent within the structure.
