VESPER BOOKS + WINE
CLIENT: VESPER
LOCATION: DETROIT, MI
YEAR: 2024
Renovation of a historic bank building in Detroit into a book store and wine shop centered around the idea of hospitality. Juxtaposing historic marble and plaster work with warm woods, bold colors, rich textiles, and hand painted accents, the space invites customers into a third space living room designed for gathering, browsing, and staying a while. The marble signing counters along the perimeter wall are repurposed as reading ledges and bar counters. The historic vault is reimagined as a private party room, deep in the heart of the space, with velvet benches and curtains, and built-in speakers.
