House with a Swoop
CLIENT: PRIVATE CLIENT
LOCATION: BIRMINGHAM, MI
YEAR: EXPECTED 2022
With plenty of windows for natural light and a playful swoop of the roof, the renovation finds a balance between preserving the adorable Tudor Revival home’s character and coziness and opening up with a more modern open floor plan, high ceilings, and connections to the outdoors. The open kitchen and dining room is designed with entertaining in mind, with an archway into the dining room and dramatic sliding-folding door into the backyard. Skylights over the central island will flood the room with natural light. Open shelving allows the client to showcase their cookbooks and dishware, while a butlers pantry provides lots of practical storage.

The master suite is an  refuge for the owners to escape to, with an entry sitting area featuring views to the backyard that leads into a bedroom with a cathedral ceiling. The master bath is designed to sink in and soak up the relaxation with calming neutral hues and tactile tiles.
